Breast Surgery
The breasts are one of the most important organs for a woman. They define her womanhood and play the most critical role in breastfeeding in the reproductive years. We, with our expert multidisciplinary team, offer a full spectrum of breast screening and surgical services, treating non-cancerous and cancerous conditions of the breast.
We treat the following conditions:
- Cysts
- Fibroadenomas
- Hyperplasia
- Breast Reduction
- Breast cancer with the reconstruction of the breast
- Other tumors of the breast, including sarcomas
- Metastatic tumours
- Other rare cancerous tumours
Non-Cancerous Lump Removal
Lumpectomy is performed as a day case. The patient is given general anesthesia and an incision is made on the surface of the lump that is already marked via ultrasound. The entire lump is excised completely from the surrounding tissue and is taken out. The wound is closed in layers using absorbable stitches. The patient is given a water-proof dressing, following which the patient is discharged the same day from the hospital.
Breast Conserving Surgery
In olden times, the only treatment for breast cancer was mastectomy, which had a negative impact on the patient’s morals, leading to social distancing as well as personal life hampering.
However, now with the concept of breast conservation surgery, only the part of breast having a tumor is removed, leaving behind the normal part of breast. However, this modality is fairly applied for early cancers, which are low-grade.
Mastectomy
This is a procedure to remove the entire breast, along with some surrounding tissues. Some women prefer to get a double mastectomy done, in which both breasts are removed.
